E1Fault

Felicity inverter error E1

Grid Volt High

Faultthe inverter cuts its output and the red LED stays solid until the fault is cleared.

E-CHO-SI3KS2

InverterFault

Also applies to:E-CHO-SI5KS2E-CHO-SI8KS2

What it means

Grid Volt HighGrid voltage above acceptable range.

Cause: AC grid voltage has exceeded the inverter's safe operating range. Usually caused by utility overvoltage, a long cable run with excess voltage rise from inverter export, or an open neutral on a multi-phase install.

How to fix it

  1. Measure AC voltage at the inverter terminals.
  2. If the reading is consistently above the inverter's maximum threshold (typically 264 VAC for 230 V systems), contact your utility.
  3. Confirm neutral continuity from the inverter back to the distribution panel.
  4. Shortening the AC cable run between the inverter and the point of common coupling also reduces voltage rise.

Frequently asked questions

What does error E1 mean on a Felicity inverter?
E1 means: Grid Volt High. AC grid voltage has exceeded the inverter's safe operating range. Usually caused by utility overvoltage, a long cable run with excess voltage rise from inverter export, or an open neutral on a multi-phase install.
Is error E1 a fault or a warning?
E1 is a fault code: the inverter cuts its output and the red LED stays solid until it is cleared.
How do I clear or fix error E1?
Measure AC voltage at the inverter terminals. If the reading is consistently above the inverter's maximum threshold (typically 264 VAC for 230 V systems), contact your utility.
