What does the ADVISORY: Over-discharge / activation failure error code mean?

ADVISORY: Over-discharge / activation failure on a Felicity unit indicates: Over-discharge - cannot be re-activated.. It is a critical-severity event that can appear on 1 device in the Felicity catalog. The same code may have slightly different recommended fixes depending on the device — the per-device sections below show the exact wording from each device's official manual.

This is a critical-severity code

Critical codes trip the unit offline immediately. They typically indicate hardware failure (short-circuit, IGBT, BMS) or an unsafe operating condition. Do not bypass the fault — note the code and contact authorized service.

What triggers this code

ADVISORY: Over-discharge / activation failure is triggered when the unit's protection or monitoring logic detects the specific condition described above. The exact trigger depends on the device — see the per-device sections for the official manual entry for each.

Description

Special Attention bullet on page 1 (section 1.4): 'Due to the built-in protection board of the lithium battery pack is with over-discharge protection function, it is strongly recommended to stop using the load when the battery pack is over-discharged. The battery pack cannot be repeatedly activated for discharge. Or the battery may be failed to be activated by the AC or PV activation cable (it requires a special charging activation method), so cannot be charged.' This is a documented advisory rather than a numbered C-code, but it describes a distinct unrecoverable condition reachable through C02 / C04.

Cause

Repeated activation attempts on a deeply over-discharged pack, exhausting the BMS's normal wake-up path so that even AC or PV activation no longer works.

Recommended fix

Stop using the load as soon as low power is indicated and recharge the battery from mains or solar as soon as possible. if the pack cannot be activated by the AC or PV activation cable, contact the supplier - a special charging activation method is required.
