Felicity ESS error 0x8023

Battery cluster thermal runaway alarm

Criticalthe ESS unit shuts down and latches a protection fault. Don't keep restarting it — the cause needs checking first.

What it means

Battery cluster thermal runaway alarm

Cause: Thermal runaway detected by any of: 1) Vmin<0.5V & Tmax>65°C; 2) Vmin<0.5V & Tmax-Tmin>30°C; 3) Vmin<0.5V & dT/dt>1°C/s; 4) Voltage sampling disconnection fault & Tmax>65°C; 5) Voltage sampling disconnection fault & Tmax-Tmin>30°C; 6) Voltage sampling disconnection fault & dT/dt>1°C/s; Vmin<0.5V & NTC sampling break or short circuit; Aerosol operation (AI1>9V on any BMU as judged by SBCU) & Tmax>65°C; Any BMU air pressure change rate ≥ 0.1 kPa/s.

How to fix it

  1. Send faults externally, limit power, request lower high voltage; if command not received within 5s, cut off the main circuit relay.
  2. Latch - manual troubleshooting is required.
